Too Close

TOO CLOSE - No woody plants stop getting bigger until they die, unless dormant or pruned (and pruning often spoils the specimen and almost always stimulates new growth). Red maple is a medium-sized tree species (to 75+ feet), but this specimen is planted only 16 inches from the building, by a "professional." Notice also the disfiguring and potentially fatal damage at the base of the trunk.
